ACS Athletics

Athletic opportunities at Assumption Catholic School are enjoyed by team members as well as students, parents, and staff spectators. Led by the school’s cheerleaders, school spirit is strong for the Knights seasonal varsity sports. The parent Assumption Athletic Association (AAA) organizes a winter intramural co-ed basketball league for students in Kindergarten through grade 6.

Knights varsity sports, open to students in grades 5 through 8, include: girls basketball and boys basketball in the fall, co-ed soccer and girls volleyball in the winter, and girls softball and boys softball in the spring. Teams compete against Catholic schools in the Diocese of St. Augustine.

Assumption Knights have a winning tradition. Both the girls and boys softball teams won the Diocesan Championship in 2006. In 2007 the boys went on to win for a second straight year with an undefeated season. Many student athletes go on to play junior varsity and varsity sports at Bishop Kenny and other high schools.
