Mrs. Lu Tablante Receives Student Recognition
Mrs. Lu Tablante, Middle School Religion teacher, was featured as a First Coast News Teacher of the Week. She was nominated by sixth grader Maribeth Nguyen because she is her favorite teacher and she loves her.
Known to her students as Ms. Lu, she has been teaching 35 years: 10 years in the Philippines and 25 years at Assumption Catholic School. She considers herself a strict disciplinarian and loves sharing God's wisdom with students in her Religion classes.
Deanna Fene, co-anchor of the 7pm news on ABC25 for the Jacksonville, Florida First Coast News television channel, taped a news segment featuring Ms. Lu in January 2010.
Ms. Lu is a favorite teacher for many students and when her former students visit the school, Ms. Lu is the first one they want to see.
