Uniform Policy and Dress Code
Girls
Pre-K girls wear plaid “pull up” shorts, light blue monogrammed polo shirt (short or long sleeved), and white or black tennis shoes, preferably with Velcro closure, and white socks. Uniform dress with navy shorts underneath and navy slacks with elastic waist may be worn.
Girls in Kindergarten through grade 2 may choose a uniform dress with navy bike shorts or plaid skorts with monogrammed white or navy (short or long sleeved) polo shirts. Shoes choices include navy or black “Mary Jane” or “T-strap” style school shoes or all white or black tennis shoes.
Girls in grades 3 through 5 wear plaid skort with navy or white monogrammed (short or long sleeved) polo shirt. Shoes include navy or black “Mary Jane” or “T-strap” style school shoes and all white or black tennis shoes. White socks are required.
Girls in grades 6 through 8 wear plaid skort and white monogrammed (short or long sleeved) Oxford blouse. Another choice for the 2010-11 school year is a white jacket-style blouse with a ¾ length sleeve. White quarter socks (must cover the ankle) are worn with navy, black or brown “Doc Martin” or “T-strap” style school shoes. All girls may wear navy slacks with the Sunshine uniform label when the temperature is below 600. Plain navy tights are permitted during cold weather.
Boys
Pre-K boys wear navy “pull-up” shorts, light blue monogrammed (short or long sleeved) polo shirts, and black tennis shoes, preferably with Velcro closure, with white socks.
Boys in grades Kindergarten through grade 4 wear navy shorts (no cuffs) or navy pants and monogrammed white (short or long sleeved) polo shirts. Other polo shirt options were introduced for the 2010-11 school year. A brown, black, or navy belt must be worn if shorts or pants have belt loops. Boys wear plain, low cut, black tennis shoes with white socks.
Fifth grade boys wear navy pants and monogrammed white (short or long sleeved) polo shirt and a brown, black, or navy belt. Fifth grade boys wear plain, low cut, black tennis shoes with white socks.
Boys in grades 6 through 8 wear navy pants with navy, brown or black belt, monogrammed white (short or long sleeved) Oxford shirts, and official school navy and white striped tie. Shoes must be brown Skecher style tie shoes or "boat" shoes worn with white or navy mid-calf socks (i.e. regular crew socks).
All uniforms, including PE uniforms, are purchased at Sunshine School Uniforms located in Jacksonville, Florida.
