Service Hour Requirements:
Like most diocesan schools across the nation, each family is required to complete 20 hours of verified service to Assumption Catholic School related activities between May 1, 2021 and June 3, 2022.
Parents may opt to pay a $500 fee to waive the service-hour commitment. For this option, please submit payment by dropping off a check to the front office. Monies collected here will go directly to a specific need predetermined by the HSA board and administration to benefit both the school and students.
Payment for unserved hours will be collected through Facts “Incidental Billing”. There are 10 days to dispute before auto-pay.
Specifics:
Field trips: Chaperoning a field trip may count as a maximum of eight (8) volunteer hours and may only count as service once per year. Regardless of if the trip is longer than 8 hours or if multiple trips are attended.
Church Service benefiting ACS children directly: Service opportunities include the church gift shop, church nursery, Parents in Prayer, Senior Luncheon and Children’s Liturgy.
Other Church Service volunteer opportunities include but are not limited to altar rosary society. Altar Rosary Society will have a maximum of 4 hours to be used toward volunteer hours. The remaining 16 hours must be for the direct benefit of Assumption Catholic School, its students and/or teachers.
Food donations: A maximum of 1 hour may be submitted for providing cake, other sweets, casseroles, etc. For example, one (1) cake equals one (1) hour. Two (2) cakes may count as two (2) service hours, etc.
Additional Information:
Submit volunteer hours exclusively online. All families are required to sign up for "Track it Forward" at www.trackitforward.com. Complete sign on directions are available on our school website.
Volunteer hours must be submitted within one month of service in order to be credited for them. For example, you will not be able to submit hours in February for service completed in October.
Double hours may be entered for working (not donating) an event during Catholic School Week and during Fall Festival only. If you are donating, those will count as regular hours.
Every $25 spent will equal one volunteer hour.
For service hours to be credited for items purchased for the benefit of ACS, you will need to submit your receipt to HSA Volunteer coordinator, in the HSA mailbox at the front office. For reimbursement, please fill out a green form at the front office, with receipts attached, for administrative approval.
All individuals who volunteer in the school must complete the Diocesan mandated background check and attend a Protecting God’s Children class.
The main responsibility of a volunteer is to assist the administration or teachers. For this reason, siblings are not allowed to accompany parent volunteers to school to serve lunches, to assist with class parties, or to help in the classroom.
